Meeting at the Church tomorrow

Troop:

We will NOT be going to Fryer Park tomorrow night due to a scheduling issue.  Please plan to meet at the church.  We will use this meeting to get advancement updated and signed off from summer camp.  If you have not met with one of the adult leaders after summer camp [1st year scouts] you should plan to do so tomorrow night.  Other scouts can get items signed off if they are ready as well.

See you tomorrow night!

Sincerely,

Kirk Bohanan

So your Scoutmaster is a basketcase? :)

Troop:

Here are a few items of note on the upcoming troop activity:

1.     Don’t miss tomorrow night’s meeting as I show you what a “Basket-Case” I can be!  We will be weaving baskets as the meeting activity.  You will have the opportunity to do some scout handicraft work and try your skill in weaving.  If you complete a total of 2 baskets [the one we will give you plus another that you have to get] and weave a stool seat you will have most of the items completed for Basketry Merit Badge.
2.     The following week we will be making leather neckerchief slides; simple but a needed item.  It can be used as part of the leatherwork merit badge requirements so keep that in mind as well.
3.     PLC MEMBERS! Don’t forget that this coming weekend will be are annual program planning event.  It will be from 2-6 PM on Saturday, 7/21.  Please plan to attend.  This is where you as the troop leadership can get activities and outings that your patrols have shown the most interest in participating in this next year’s schedule.  It is very important – so make every attempt to be there and ready to represent your patrol on this important meeting.  I will have Pizza for after our work.
4.     Tomorrow night I will have a sign-up sheet for the Grove City Homecoming Softball Tournament Trash Clean-up.  That will be the weekend of July 28 and 29. We will pick up the softball diamond area trash as a fundraiser. The money earned goes directly into the scout accounts for the scouts that work the event. Details are Saturday morning for about 1 hour and then both evenings for about 2 hours [after all of the games have played]. I will need a couple of parents with trucks to work to haul the trash to the dumpster.  See all details at our meeting tomorrow night.

That is all for now.  See you tomorrow night!

Sincerely,

Help with Chase Liggett's Eagle Project

Troop:

Please see the attached note below from Chase Liggett as he is working on starting his Eagle Scout Project.  Please help if you can.

Thanks.

Kirk

Hey everyone, I plan on starting my project building a deer blind this saturday July 14 from 2-6pm at the church. This is one of the planned 3 work days for my project. The other two I plan on holding July 15 from 2-6pm and July 21 from 2-6pm. The first 2 workdays will be at the church for your convenience and will involve doing prefab work. The final workday July 21 will be held at the Lightning Tree Barn down in Circleville Ohio. This workday will include the final installation of the deer blind. The plan will be to meet at 1:30pm at the church on the 21 and head down together. Directions from the church to the site will be included below. This project will require the use of power tools so I need some Adults, this will mainly be using a circular saw to cut the wood to size.

The final work day will be in the woods and it may or may not be mowed, so wear long pants and bring bug spray. Also, food will be provided on all three days as well as water but please bring water with you. Bring clothes that you are not afraid to get dirty because we will be spray painting metal siding, and bring work gloves.
