Church sleepover:
This weekend, the church is not available until after 8:30.  There is a church potluck on Friday night.  I will be asking the Troop tonight if they want to stay overnight on Saturday night.  If so, we will arrive a little later than normal and we can sleep in on Saturday morning since the Urban Air does not open until 11:00 am.  I will not be able to stay all day.  I can stay until about 2 pm.I will be checking with the other leaders to see if there will be adults.  I will know more later tonight.

UrbanAir:
Sky Rider, Ropes Course, Climbing Walls, Warrior Course, Battle Beam, Tubes - Indoor Playground, Climbing Hill, Basic Trampolines

Pie in the Face:
This is an annual tradition and an incentive for the Scouts to earn rank, merit badges and sell popcorn.  Every Scout who has completed three merit badges that are not Eagle required will be able to throw one pie, every Eagle required merit badge will be one pie each, every rank earned in 2022 will earn one pie throw and every $300 sold will earn one pie throw.  This will happen next week on December 20th.

Camp Oyo Backpacking Trip 11/11-13:
We had a fun backpacking event and everyone was able to earn the Polar Bear patch since we slept outside on Saturday night.  These will be awarded at the next Court of Honor.

NYLT:
The registration opened up and we have three Scouts registered now.  If you are First Class and above and want to participate, please let me know.

Recharter:
Recharter has been completed.  There will be some that may not be receiving an email after December.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know if you do not receive an email in January.

Summer Camp Camp Ransburg: June 25 - July 1:
We have a new campsite, Flatrock.  This was decided at the end of summer camp last year and is a really good spot near the main road and close to the showers.  Here is the message from Camp Ransburg:

Season’s Greetings from Camp Ransburg!

Thank you for registering your Troop for summer camp 2023. Whether your Troop is returning, or this will be their first time attending, we are excited for Scouts and leaders to experience all that Ransburg Scout Reservation has to offer!

If you have not already, now is the time to promote summer camp to your Scouts and families and get a commitment from them.  A great promotional tool is the new camp experience guide (attached.)  Inside this guide Scouts and adults can learn about the programs offered at Ransburg, as well as information to plan for camp. The 2023 camp fees have been published on the event page. Please start communicating the fees to your families now so that they can plan and prepare to make payments on time.

We are excited to announce that camp is going all inclusive. Much like an all-inclusive resort this means all standard programs and merit badges are included at no additional cost. Special programs or trips may have an onsite fee. This means no more standing in line at the trading post to buy merit badge kits or program tickets and more time having fun.

Over the next six months, we will be sending emails to help keep your unit up to date with important information and deadlines.  Please take a moment to verify that the person listed as the registration contact is indeed the correct person to receive these emails. If there is a volunteer who you think would benefit from receiving monthly emails, you can include their email address under the registration contact tab.

Thank you for putting your trust in us to provide your Scouts with a top notch and unparalleled summer camp experience. If you have any questions about your unit’s registration or the content in this email, please do not hesitate to contact me.

From all of us at the Crossroads of America Council, we wish you and your family a safe, healthy, and happy holiday!
