4. Monthly Dues:
“A Scout is Thrifty…”
Please
keep up to date on your monthly dues.
We collect $10.00 each month for troop operation. This can be paid or taken from your son’s
Scout Account. Scout Accounts are
funded by participation in fundraising activities, and also by Kroger
Plus purchases. Use Kroger Plus Card for your family
food purchases. A percent of your spending at Kroger on the Kroger Plus card
will go into the Boy’s Scout Account. The Scout Account can be used to pay for Summer Camp
fees, Monthly camp-out fees, Troop Dues, and Troop related expenses that are
approved by the Scoutmaster. Please note that the purchase of Personal Gear
is not an approved expense that your scout account will cover.

5. Eagle Court of Honor - October 14th!
Please plan
to attend the upcoming Eagle Court of Honor for Mason Roush. Mason will have his presentation on October
14th at 2 PM- at the First Presbyterian Church. We will need scouts to
participate at this ceremonies – so please plan to assist.
6. BSA Health Forms
HEALTH FORMS
from summer camp are now on file for the next 12 months. If you did not go to summer camp you should
have at least Part A and Part B of the New Health Form submitted to the
troop. [Part C is the visit to the
Doctor’s office]. This is important information that we take on our outdoor
outings in case of an emergency. Please
help us by getting this information into the Troop. As any medications change
please update Part A of your son’s form. Please a copy of this form for your
records - and in case I misplace them.
7. Campout This Month –3 Eagles Shooting
Sports
This
month we will be taking part in a Shooting Sports Day at the Pickaway County
Sports Club. We will Camp at Mount Oval
and then spend Saturday at the Sport Club.
We will leave Friday night 11/19 and return on Sunday 11/21. This is unlimited Shooting and Lots of FUN!
Please plan to attend. [We have 20 spots – so don’t delay!]
8. POPCORN SALE
Hopefully
you are well on your way to reaching your sales goal in the Popcorn
Fundraiser. Make sure to do your best
and remember that all profits from your sales go into your scout
account. If you need assistance or
product to sell please get with Mr. Asendorf, Mrs. Elliott, or Mrs. Spencer Popcorn
Kernal Team!.
9. Creek Sweep - October 13th
- CANCELLED
During the planning of this event, we did not have enough support
from other BSA Troops in our District to make this event be able to take
place. We will take a year off and try
again next year.
10.Troop Elections – Next Month
For those
Scout wanting to work on their positions of responsibility within the troop, we
will be holding our troop elections on November 1st for Senior Patrol Leader
& Patrol Leaders. Other positions
will be available as well for those needing leadership roles within the troop
for advancement. If you are interested see Kirk Bohanan for information and
details.
11. Backpacking Trip - Next Month
We are planning to go backpacking
next month – Location – We will be gong Camp Oyo and Backpacking along the
Shawnee Trail. We will be leaving Friday
night [11/9] and will be staying in the cabins at Camp Oyo, then onto the trail
Saturday [11/10]. The hike will be 4-5
miles. Please start your preparation now.
More information on this trip will be coming out later this month.
