January Campout

Parents and Scouts:

Ok – Here it is!  The permission slip for the January campout to Camp Manatoc in Peninsula Ohio and our snow sports weekend. It will be January 16-18; leaving the church parking lot at 6 PM.

As I have explained, the cabin we are renting will hold 24.  Those first 24 will have the opportunity to either sleep in the cabin or outside in a tent.  After the cabin is full all wishing to go will be in tents.  Just make sure you understand this and if you wish to be in the cabin be there tomorrow night and turn in your permission slip to Mr. Baughman – NOT ME.

The cost of the weekend will depend on what you are going to do.  See the linked sheet to figure out what the cost will be.  All of those going skiing or boarding will have to have a helmet, which can be rented at Brandywine.  If you have your own gear then that is fine, just let me know on the form.  There will also be another Liability form that will need to be completed.  I don’t have them as of yet, but I will make them available prior to our trip.

See you tomorrow night.

Scouts needed his weekend

Parents and Scouts:

I have two activities that were of possible interest for the Troop that will take place tomorrow.

1. At 1:45 PM Saturday, the Boy Scouts in Grove city [all troops are invited to participate] will meet at the Concorde Cemetery to honor our most recent Fallen Solider, Joseph Riley.  We will line the entrance to the cemetery as he is laid to rest.  All are invited to attend, the scouts are to be in Class A uniform.  Please plan accordingly to the weather.

We will ask you to park probably over in Kroger parking lot at Hoover and 665, then walk over to the cemetery which is just on the south east side of that intersection.  I would like to have a good representation from our troop, SO – IF you can make it please do!

2. ON another note, if any Older scouts [First class and above]  are needing service hours, they are invited to volunteer at Secret Santa tent tomorrow. They need volunteers from 4-9 pm Saturday Evening. The volunteers will help children shop for family members. Secret Santa is in the heated tent that is part of Mistletoe Market. If you wish to help on this activity please let me know ASAP

Thanks -

January Camp - RSVP by Tuesday

Parents and scouts:

I am working to set up some preliminary attendance numbers for the January campout.  This will be for the reservation purposed at Brandywine.  Here’s the scoop:

We will be leaving on Friday January 16 in the evening to drive to Camp Manatoc in Peninsula Ohio [2 Hours].  We will then on Saturday, go to Brandywine ski slope to either snow ski, snow board or snow tube.  Cost for these are approximately $40 to snow tube and $75 to snow ski or snow board.  all gear included [helmet too]

I am trying to set up our reservation for the trip to Brandywine and need to get some estimates on how many are going and what they are wanting to do.  We have a cabin for the weekend that sleeps 24.  The first 24 that sign up will have the opportunity to sleep in the  cabin; other can go but will have to sleep outside in tents.  I  will have the permission slips out in early December for this event.

What I need from you by Tuesday is whether you wish to go and what your activity for the day will be.  Please email me your response

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Kirk Bohanan

4. Monthly Dues: “A Scout is Thrifty…”
Please keep up to date on your monthly dues. We collect $10.00 each month for troop operation. This can be paid or taken from your son’s Scout Account. Scout Accounts are funded by participation in fundraising activities, and also by Kroger Plus purchases. Use Kroger Plus Card for your family food purchases. A percent of your spending at Kroger on the Kroger Plus card will go into the Boy’s Scout Account. The Scout Account can be used to pay for Summer Camp fees, Monthly camp-out fees, Troop Dues, Uniform expenses, and Troop related expenses that are approved by the Scoutmaster.
Please check with Jim Baughman on status of your son's Scout Account.

5. Become a Den Chief for the Cub Pack
