1. Tents and tarps
If you have a tent or tarp, please plan to be there at 6:45
if possible. If you had a tent and/or tarp from the Tar Hollow and the
previous campout at the Spring Camporee, please bring them ready to be turned
in tonight. Please be sure they are clean. We will need them this
weekend. The weather will be nice tonight before the meeting if you need
to clean out the tents and tarps before you bring them back to them back to the
troop. Please arrive about ten minutes early so that you can be checked
back in with the tarp and tent.
2. Dorchester Participants
Here is the current list of scouts attending Dorchester this
weekend:
In this list, I started the seating assignments. This will
not be like most trips where you can just hop in a vehicle before we
leave. We will meet tonight for a few minutes to discuss the seating
arrangements and other items. Since we are crossing the border, you will
be assigned to a vehicle for the trip there and back. We can finish the
tonight at the troop meeting along with the assigning of patrols for the
weekend.
3. Items needed for Dorchester
Below are the items that we will need for those going to
Dorchester. Here are the items that we will need:
1. Passport or original
birth certificate
2. Permission form for the troop
3. Dorchester Consent letter to
travel to Canada - See attached letter
4. Canadian Health Form -
See attached
5. Scout Medical Form (Only Part A
and part B completed for this trip, but some of you might need get a new one
for summer camp so I attached A, B and C)
6. Medicine - Please bring any
medicine along with dosage information with the scout. Please include in
the original prescription bottles and/or packaging
since we are crossing the
border. They may want to look at the prescription medicine.
The only new item on this list is the consent letter. The
notary will not be at the meeting tonight, but said that if you stop by the HER
building during the normal hours, she will sign the form for you. I was
directed to the website by a parent in the troop. I recommend that you
have both the permission slip and the consent letter notarized. I met
with Kirk last night and they had a similar release form they used for the
previous trip in 2016.
4. Muskingum Summer Camp
I cannot believe summer camp is almost here again.
Attached is the current list of participants. I will be making a payment
this week for those scouts and adults on the list. Be sure to check with
Mr. Baughman if you are not on the list so that you can pay for summer camp. If
you confirm with Mr. Baughman that you are paid, I will pay the $260 for each
scout to attend summer camp. I found out about the date last night when I met
with Kirk. I guess the camp is still sending him emails.
Adults - Last year we have had about 8-10 adults go to
summer camp. If you are willing to go for a few days, half of the week or
even all of the week, please let me know so that I can add you to the list of
participants. In talking with Kirk last night, MVSR has been sending him
the emails, but I was not part of the distribution list for summer
camp. Kirk sent him the email that states that we have until Friday to
make the payment for scouts going at the $260 rate. If possible, please
let me know the dates that you will be attending.
We will have our summer camp meeting on May 21st.
